Donald Stewart, 98, of Effingham, formerly of Greenup, passed away at 1:38 pm on Wednesday June 12, 2024, at HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.
Funeral services and Masonic Rites will begin at 11:00 am on Tuesday June 18, 2024, at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am until service time on Tuesday June 18, 2024, at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in the Greenup Cemetery with Military Rites by the Cumberland County Veterans.
Donald was born on October 28, 1925, to Roy and Gladys (Hickle) Stewart at VeVey Park, in Cumberland County. He married Marcella Draper on December 8, 1946. She preceded him in death in 2013. Survivors include son Joseph Lee (Cheryl) Stewart; daughter Susan Stewart; and a grandchild Curtiss Johnson. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Bill Stewart, and sisters Betty Quinn and Ruby Wylde.
