Janice Lynn (Thompson) Roberts, 77, passed away in Irving, Texas on July 6, 2024, after a sudden illness.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday July 16, 2024, at the Toledo Christian Church. There will be a one-hour visitation prior to the service beginning at 10:00 am at the church. The burial will be in the Greenup Cemetery. The Barkley Funeral Chapel is assisting the family.
She was born in Tuscola, Illinois on May 30, 1947, the beloved daughter of Bill and Liz (Kingery) Thompson. Janice was raised on a farm near Neoga. She graduated from Cumberland High School in 1965 and earned Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Speech Communication and English. Jan was a proud member of the Delta Zeta sorority. She had a long and fulfilling career, touching many lives with her dedication and passion for education. Jan lived for many years in Southern California, and she especially enjoyed teaching English in Japan. An outgoing and accomplished woman, Janice was crowned Cumberland
